Martin County, Texas
Martin County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is named for Wylie Martin, an early settler. Martin County is one of 30〔http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/local_option_elections/index.asp〕 prohibition, or entirely dry, counties in the state of Texas.
Martin County is included in the Midland, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.08%) is water. The northern portion of the Spraberry Trend, the third-largest oil field in the United States by remaining reserves, underlies much of the county.〔(Top 100 Oil and Gas Fields )〕
